The story of ABAC began in a home where a small group of families prayed that God would establish a church in Alberta Beach. From that small core of praying people, a community began to grow. Since 1949, our church has moved through several iterations of ministry and location. In every phase of its history, the values of ABAC have orbited around a deep reverence for Scripture, prayer, and a passion for creating spaces for fellowship. Sharing meals together on a Sunday after the service is one of the defining characteristics of our community. It is a joy to serve and share with one another and to welcome new people with friendship and a good meal. As we look back on the journey from then to now, it is evident that God has been at work in this church. As with all communities of faith, the story of ABAC bears witness to how our faithful and loving God invites imperfect people to be a part of his restorative work in the world. You are invited to join us as we discover what God has next for his church in Alberta Beach.
Our church is a part of the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada, a deeper life evangelical denomination with a history that reaches back to the 1800's. The images above, all elements of the Alliance logo, each represent an aspect of Jesus' provision in what we refer as the Four Fold Gospel. The emblems attest to Jesus as our Saviour, Sanctifier, Healer, and Coming King. Along with this Gospel focus, the C&MA is committed to bringing the message of Jesus' love and salvation to the least reached in our world. The values of our denomination are in our vision prayer: O God, with all our hearts, we long for you. Come, transform us to be Christ-centred, Spirit-empowered, Mission-focused people, multiplying disciples everywhere. ABAC affirms and holds to the C&MA Statement of Faith, which is a brief summary of historical orthodox Christian belief. You can access the whole Statement of Faith by clicking the link below.
